How Can You Prevent Burglary?

1. Close & lock all entrance doors.
2. Use strong locks and solid doors.
3. Reinforce door frames.
4. Close and lock all windows.
5. Keep all areas well lighted.
6. Keep trees and shrubs trimmed.
7. Keep security gates closed.
8. Be observant.
9. Call the Police (911) on suspicious persons.
10. When on vacation -
• Use automatic timers for lights and radio.
• Shut off or lower your telephone ringer.
• Have a neighbor pick up your papers and mail.
• Leave your drapes or blinds open.
• Have a neighbor check all entrances every few days.

This won't stop all burglary, but these steps are known to help lessen the risk.
